East-West Reading Launches, and Every Paid Reading Now Matches Your Language

A new reading combining Western sun sign and Chinese zodiac through the five-element cycle, shipped alongside a fix so paid AI readings are written in the reader's own language, not English.

What shipped

Two changes landed together in this release.

East-West, a new free reading, launched: 12 signs × 12 animals = 144 combinations per locale, 1,440 pages total. It maps a Western sun sign's element into the five-element system (air becomes wood; fire, earth, and water carry over directly) and reads it against a Chinese zodiac animal's fixed element through the generating and overcoming cycles — the one reading on Mystica that needs both a Western and an Eastern content set in a single page. See Western sun sign vs Chinese zodiac for the full explanation.

Paid AI readings now write in the reader's language. An audit of all 17 category prompt builders found that 14 of them hardcoded the AI's output language to Korean-or-English, so a paying customer reading the site in any of the other eight languages was charged a credit and handed back an English reading inside an otherwise fully localized page. The free tier had been localized all along, which is exactly why the bug was invisible in normal use — it only showed up on the paid path. Every prompt builder now resolves its output language from a single shared module instead of an inline conditional, and a dedicated test builds every category's prompt in every locale and fails if any of them ask the model for English.

Why the language bug mattered

Charging a credit for a reading in the wrong language is a real defect, not a cosmetic one — the free-tier polish had nothing to do with whether the paid product actually delivered what it charged for.

Try it

Read the free East-West combination for your own sign and animal, or unlock a deep AI reading on any category page in your own language — the output language now always matches the page you're reading it on.
